Absolent is a globally recognized leader in manufacturing industrial air filtration units, specializing in separating oil mist, oil smoke, and dust from process air. Their high-quality products are designed to ensure clean air in various industrial settings, providing both indoor and outdoor solutions with machine-mounted and central filter systems. Absolent faced the challenge of replacing an outdated vendor solution. They needed a comprehensive platform to ensure real-time monitoring and optimal performance of their filtering units. By partnering with Beacon Tower and leveraging their Azure-based IoT platform, Absolent improved its operational efficiency.

The situation

Absolent faced challenges with their existing monitoring system for their IoT solution provided by Telenor, which was being phased out. This situation created an urgent need for a new, reliable solution to ensure the continued access to their industrial air cleaning units. The lack of real-time monitoring and early detection capabilities increased maintenance costs, production inefficiencies, and potential health risks for their customers.

Key challenges:

• Obsolete Vendor Solution: Telenor’s solution was being removed from the market, creating an immediate need for a new platform.
• Maintenance Costs: Without real-time monitoring, maintenance costs were high due to the inability to detect issues early.
• Production Downtime: Inefficient monitoring led to unexpected downtimes, affecting overall production quality
• Performance tracking: Ensuring a healthy working environment was compromised by the lack of performance tracking for air cleaning units.
